I headed to climb up Mt. Takao which is about 600m height and located in the west part of Tokyo.
It takes about 1hr away from Oakhotel.
So, you can go one day trip to the mountain.

Every year in this season, autumn, so many people come there to see the beautiful autumn foliage.
Even thought it was Tuesday afternoon, just a normal weekday, I saw a bunch of people at the foot of the mountain.

This one was taken just in front of Takaosan-guchi Station.

There are some trails to climb up this mountain,but for some reason I took the hardest one, Inariyama Trail.


Maybe I was crazy haha
Because I'd never expected that it would be so hard to climb up Mt. Takao since my friends told me it was not that hard.
Now I noticed they just went through easy ones (It's too late to regret though...)

This is the view of central Tokyo area from half way of the trail.

 

I'M ALMOST THEREEEEE!!


So, it took about 70min for me to climb up all the way to the top of the mountain.

I found so many beautiful trees there!!












Also, found my friend and a few of her friends from my university there.
I was like "What a coincidence" lol



It was a looooooong day but was super fun at the same time.


I mentioned that it was a hard way for me to get to the top, but as you can see the trail map of Mt. Takao, you can choose different trails such as the one you can take a cable car or lift and also there are other "easy" ones as well.
So, please feel free to try climbing up Mt. Takao if you have time :)

This is one of them where I went and called "The Lockup" in Shibuya.

This bar is kind of scary, because you will see those "amusement" stuff from the way to the entrance and inside of the bar.

It was like "SCIENCE"!! haha


We had soooo much fun there though, my camera's battery was low and i couldn't take any other pictures...*sigh*

Anyway, they also have unique food and scary(fun?) events.
You will never know until you actually go and see those stuff. (Seeing is believing, right?)
So, I strongly recommend you to go to The Lockup while your stay in Tokyo!

There are mover 300 shops and Sumida aquarium in Soramachi. This mall connect from Tokyo Sky tree station to Oshiage station on Tobu line so it is really huge shopping center!

The registration for tuna auction starts from 5 am, so if you don't want to miss it, you'd better to get there before 5 o'clock. It is hard to say what time you should be there because it's depends on dates or season...

We caught a taxi at 4 am at Ueno station and got to Tsukiji about 4:20 am. It costs about 3,500 yen. The place for registration is near by Kachidoki bashi so you'd better to tell taxi driver to get off at there.

We got a vest and information paper of the market and wait until auction time in a room.

Number of visitors who can see the auction is up to 120 people and it's divide into 2 groups. First group starts from 5:25 am to 5:50 am, second group is  5:50 to 6:15.
There were 40 people before we arrived this time.


At 5:25, we followed security guard to go to auction area. Market is busy and so we had to be careful not to hit a car!

After saw the auction, we looked around the inside market. Most shops and restaurants opened from early morning so it's nice to kill time!

We looked around Seafood Intermediate Wholesalers area in the market too. Visitors can enter after 9:00 am.

I felt like I was in aquarium!


If you don't see tuna auction, you don't need get up in early morning to go there. Some shops close around 1:00 pm so morning to before noon is good time to visit there I think.
Tsukiji fish market is like one small town so you will have fun in there!!

The path go through to Minatomirai. It's a nice way to take a walk by seaside.
On the way to Minatomirai, Akarenga soko (Red Brick Warehouse) is nearby the ocean.

In Minatomirai, there are theme park, and shipping mall. It's quite different atmosphere from the bay side area.

"Mikoshi" (portable shrine) is carried by many people and they walk around the town.  They start from several spots in the town and the goal is Shitaya Shrine.

On 12th,  Mikoshi started around 6 pm.

This is Dashi, it goes forward Mikoshi and they play musical instruments and livened up people who carry Mikoshi.
